Laoye Jaiyeola is a visionary leader with over 35 years of experience in the banking industry and extensive expertise in board leadership.
He began his career with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), where he served for over 15 years. In 1995, he transitioned to Kakawa Discount House Limited (now FBN Quest), and after a decade of exemplary service, he rose to the position of Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, a role he held for nearly 10 years.
Laoye’s career is marked by numerous leadership milestones. He is the former CEO of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), a past President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), a former President and a Trustee of the Financial Markets Dealers Association (FMDA) formerly known as the Money Market Association of Nigeria (MMAN), and a pioneer Board member of FMDQ OTC Securities Exchange. He also served on the boards of Nigeria Improving Business Environment for Prosperity (NIBEP) and Nigerian National Advisory Board for Impact Investing (Nigerian NABII)
A Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Laoye is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Scotland and a Fellow of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government’s Senior Executive Program. His educational journey includes a degree in Economics from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), a Master’s in Banking and Finance from the University of Lagos, and an MBA from Bangor University, Wales, United Kingdom. He has also attended numerous executive programs at prestigious universities worldwide.
Laoye Jaiyeola, (AKA JOJ), as he is fondly and admirably called by all and sundry, continues to lend his expertise to various influential platforms and currently chairs Kainos Edge Consulting Limited. Additionally, he is the Founder and Pro-Chancellor of Hillside University of Science and Technology (HUST), Oke-Imesi, Ekiti State.
As an Economist and veteran Treasurer, Laoye’s profound knowledge and insights are sought after in speaking engagements and advisory roles in Corporate Governance, Leadership, and Public-Private Partnerships.
