Laoye Jaiyeola

Laoye Jaiyeola is a visionary leader with over thirty-five years of banking experience and many years of Board leadership experience. He worked with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for over fifteen years before he joined Kakawa Discount House Limited (Kakawa, now FBN Quest) in 1995. Ten years later, he climbed the career ladder to become the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Kakawa; a position he held gracefully for about a decade.

He is a past President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), a Trustee of the Financial Markets Dealers Association (FMDA), and a pioneer Board member of FMDQ OTC Securities Exchange.

‘Laoye is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Bankers’ of Nigeria (CIBN) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Scotland; and a Fellow of the Senior Executive Program, Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He studied for a degree in Economics at the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University and bagged a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Lagos. He also holds a Master’s of Business Administration from Bangor University, Wales, United Kingdom and he has attended many executive programmes in reputable universities across the globe.

Currently, he is the CEO of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) and he serves on the Board of Nigeria Improving Business Environment for Prosperity (NIBEP); he is a member of the Nigerian National Advisory Board for Impact Investing (Nigerian NABII), and he sits as Chairman of Kainos Edge Consulting Limited.

’Laoye is an Economist par excellence and a veteran Treasurer whose wealth of experience is always well enunciated in his speaking engagements and advisory roles.

He is happily married to Mrs Soledemi Olutoyin Jaiyeola and they are blessed with three children.
